Finance Associate (530-291)

Support the finance and fiber supply functions in a variety of routine and non-routine accounting/clerical functions in accordance with standard procedures. This role is designed for a technically capable individual with a strong drive to increase their knowledge and move onto positions with more responsibility.
Key Accountabilities:
Working knowledge of accounting standards and GAAP.
Responsive to fiber supply needs to pay wood suppliers correctly and promptly
Working knowledge of the Androscoggin Mill, its policies and procedures as well as its integrated operations
Working knowledge of internal and external customers.

Required Skills
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform a wide range of accounting functions which may include: general ledger entries, account reconciliations, payroll calculations, accounts payable and raw material receipts
Assist with internal and external audits as needed
Assist with a broad range of accounting assignments requiring originality, ingenuity and technical skills
Submit and coordinate information with our corporate accounting center and provide follow up when required
Reconcile manual tickets monthly
Mail and fax routine supplier communications
Provide misc. administrative support to fiber supply staff
Monitor receivables from outside sales markets
Assist other team members as needed
Provide vacation coverage and backup for other finance personnel
Order supplies for office as required
Process incoming/outgoing mail
Required Experience
Knowledge and Experience:
Associates Degree with accounting experience could be substituted contingent upon continuous progress toward an Accounting/Finance BS degree.
Ability to interpret financial data and standard cost concepts
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong computer skills with emphasis in Excel and SAP.
Knowledge of LIMS a plus.
Self-starter. Quick learner. Motivated to improve self and surroundings.
High degree of internal and external customer awareness.
Understanding of and adherence to strong internal controls.
Willing to work flexible schedule when needed.
Ability to work to imposed, routine, deadlines.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
