Paper Mill Shift Supervisor (547-291)

The Paper Mill Shift Supervisor provides leadership to the paper machine operating crew, supports the crew in achieving the paper machine department objectives and facilitates sound business decisions. The paper mill shift supervisor is accountable for the daily coordination of available mill resources to ensure continuity of paper machine operations. The primary focus of the paper mill shift supervisor is in the immediate one to four day timeframe.
Key customers are the operating crews, area manager, maintenance personnel and shipping & converting. Also involved are other process managers from different departments and daytime resources.
Key Accountabilities:
Achieve an accident free work environment by:
Actively recognize, clarify understanding and correct behaviors inconsistent with the policies of the mill and paper department. Demonstrate a zero tolerance to these behaviors.
100% completion of crew Safety Behavior Based System
Completing all Safety Investigation reports within timeline
Utilize safe behavior management fundamentals to manage crew safety performance.
Ensure crew safety training and safety and environmental regulation compliance.
Support safety and environmental initiatives established by the mill and paper machine in pursuit of an accident free work environment.
Understanding all environmental standard operating procedures and operating limits to operate within compliance.
Support production and quality expectations:
Manage process by exception; ensure operators are completing rounds and responding to exceptions consistently and timely.
Conforming to grade specifications and controlling to KOPs daily.
Support the use of Analytical Troubleshooting and to lead ATS with the operating crews.
Support crew driven parts of reliability initiatives such as ODR and MWMS.
Effectively manage paper machine availability and acceptance on shift by managing paper machine web breaks, duration of grade changes and quality excursions.
Continue development of crews by:
Administering one-on-one with each team member to discuss strengths and weakness and to develop action plans to address each.
Assist in establishing minimum competency skills for each operational process and work position and to ensure crews are trained and capable of meeting those skills.
Taking personal accountability for coaching, leading, supporting and developing operating crew.
Set expectations consistent with other operating shifts and general mill management philosophy for crew performance.
Ensure crew member performance issues are resolved using appropriate progressive corrective action.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (pulp & paper; chemical, industrial; mechanic; electrical or other related discipline) preferred.
At least two years of paper manufacturing technical/line leadership experience is required.
Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
Must have demonstrated line leadership experience & desire to succeed, with strong team orientation.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
